INGREDIENTS
Serving: 1
Baked Tomatoes
- Medium Sized Cherry Tomatoes (preferably w/ stalk)
- Olive Oil
- Salt
- Black Pepper
Scrambled Eggs
- 3 Regular Size Eggs
- 100ml Milk
- 1 tbsp Butter
Grilled Cheese Sandwich
- 2 Bread Slices (be creative with different bread choices!)
- Cheddar Cheese
- Butter
Basil Side
- Fresh Basil
- Olive Oil
- Salt
TOOLS
- Frying Pan(s)
- Oven safe pan
- Oven
- Panini Press (or regular pan + spatula)
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C
- In an oven safe pan, mix the olive oil, salt, pepper and tomatoes all together.
- Bake tomatoes until they look slightly browned and wrinkled.
- To make scrambled eggs, combine the eggs and milk into a separate bowl and whisk together.
- Then add butter to a heated frying pan and "scramble" your eggs at a moderate pace until they are slightly runny. Turn off the heat and let the egg cook through for a few seconds - this will make sure you won't have a dry texture to your eggs.
- Sprinkle on a little salt and pepper.
--> The grilled cheese sandwich is pretty self explanatory (that's why I love it so much - it is so easy to make, yet so flavorful and filling).
- First, simply cut slices of cheddar cheese and place several pieces in between the two bread slices.
- Butter the exposed top layers of the bread.
- Now place the sandwich into a grill (or frying pan - in this case, use a spatula or sandwich press to weigh down each side).
- When the cheese has melted and the bread is a lovely golden brown, take it out of the grill and place onto a large plate to start assembling.
- On your plate, assemble the tomatoes, scrambled eggs and grilled cheese.
- To give more flavor to the eggs, you can chop up some basil and drizzle it with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt.
*Tip*
- When chopping up herbs, it is important to know that herbs get their fragrance from their inner oils. If you are too aggressive with your knife, these delicious oils will all be left on the cutting board - not on our plate!
- As shown in the picture below, you should roll up the basil leaves and delicately slice with a rolling motion in your wrist so that we are getting the most out of our herbs!
- To finalize plating, add the basil garnish next to your eggs and wala! You are done! Congrats on treating yourself with this "Easy Sunday Brunch" recipe~
